Why choose the FDM Short Shift Kit?
Ours is the only complete bolt on kit available. Unlike other kits out there, there is no cutting, grinding or welding. Just remove the original shift lever/fork and forward rod and bolt in the FDM SSK.
Why replace the forward rod?
The original 964/993 forward rod utilizes a cup and ball joint that are a press fit. As the years go on, the factory cup/ball joint gets loose and sloppy, causing less precise shift feel.
If that joint wears enough, it can fail, leaving you stranded on the road.
This kit replaces the parts in GREEN shown below. It does not include the Golden Rod (part in yellow).
